As my grandfather used to say; sometimes its hard to see the forest for the trees. Huh? I think what he meant was sometimes you have to take a step back to see the big picture. For those of us who live and work in Denver Co, the big picture about our real estate market is sometimes harder to see with the local headlines, and negative press.
NBC’s Today Show recently interviewed Barbara Corcoran, Real Estate Contributor. Barbara shared her top 5 up and coming real estate markets and the eight reasons why these are the top markets. And of course, what we in Denver had recently suspected, Denver is the #1 top real estate market poised for a recovery.
Barbara’s criteria included; job growth, a growing population and good climate. She also felt equally important was the strong pool of first time buyers, our lack of overbuilding in condo/commercial construction, a vital downtown, and our well education population. And finally, she commented that Denver Co and the front range had recently ranked in the top ten for foreclosures, long before the rest of the nation, but now is nowhere to be seen on that top ten list.

For these reason, Barbara felt that Denver was the #1 city on the verge of a recovery. We’ve known this for months-and now the rest of the nation does, too!
