Staycation is the New Buzzword for Denver CO Residents

by Doug Jones on May 27, 2009

It’s the new buzzword.  Staycation.  Keep the family happy with a vacation, and keep mom and dad happy by staying close to home.

If you are lucky enough to live in Douglas County, Colorado, there is so much to do this summer.  Douglas county includes the cities of Parker and Castle Rock.  In addition, communities like Highlands Ranch, and parts of Littleton are also in Douglas County.  Many of the activities to do and see are listed at  http://www.douglas.co.us/dcoutdoors/.  Why not try horseback riding or cycling?  With all of the open space and trails how about hiking or backpacking?  We all know about fishing, but did you know about the popular off leash dog parks?

Douglas county has over 46,000 acres of open space, with regional and local parks ready for your outdoor adventure.  And don’t forget the Colorado State Parks also in the Douglas County area.  Castlewood Canyon State Park offers beautiful hiking around the ruins of the old dam.  Cherry Creek State Park and Reservoir, and Chatfield State Park and Reservoir offer boating and fishing in the nearby communities of Centennial and Littleton.

Of course, as a Realtor in the Douglas county area, I’m very partial to living and working in this area.  If you would like more information on homes and recreation, give me a call or send me an email.  Or feel free to browse almost all of the Denver CO homes and surrounding areas on my website.  For free!
